Role
The role of chief financial officer is to direct the organisation's financial goals, objectives, and budgets as well as to oversee the investment of funds held by the organisation including weighing up and managing associated risks involved.
Duties
- To manage, organise and contribute to the organisation by ensuring that financial accounting systems and internal controls are properly developed and maintained.
- To ensure that financial information, advice and directions are available for management and that legal financial obligations are met.
- To analyse and interpret monthly revenue figures when released to provide relevant information to management.
- To Review forecasts and budgets.
- To prepare the annual financial statements and supporting schedules for review by the auditors as well as ensure compliance with all statutory and group reporting requirements.
- To review the annual tax returns for the company, including all the required schedules, ensuring exposure to taxation is limited.
Requirements
- Master's degree in accounting or finance.
- Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in a senior leadership role.
- CPA designation preferred.
- Must have knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications.
- Must have excellent financial and budget skills.
